Material Control Manager
Manages all activities of the Materials Department at the operational level. Ensure effective use of facilities and personnel as well as conformance to schedules and budget. Manage the materials planning activities to ensure raw material support and accurate scheduling to effectively meet shipment schedules and production demands. Manage material storage, flow, and shipping functions
1.Materials management functions:
a.Supervise and establish procedures for taking and valuing monthly inventories.
b.Direct the write-off of obsolescent and damaged inventory
c.Manage the shipping functions of the company and oversee the storage of purchased parts, sub-assemblies, and finished goods.
d.Investigate and solve problems resulting from material shortages, however caused.
e.Maintain a good working knowledge of the ERP software, and work to achieve and maintain inventory accuracy in the ERP system.
f.Manage the disposal of all hazardous waste as well as proper documentation
g.Streamline operations for maximum efficiency.
h.Work on continuous improvement in the areas of productivity and quality.
i.Plan and direct material handling and activities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
2.Manage production control and planning.2.Develop and implement inventory control procedures and sequence of operations within the department to optimize workflow.
3.Manage the Materials Department personnel in the following areas (working with Human Resources):
Staffing,Development,training,rewarding, reviewing,and disciplining
6.Responsible for all logistic services, low-cost direct billed shipping facility capacity planning materials management related activities and teams to support ongoing manufacturing. Coordinates and directs all logistics and production planning activities to support customer demand, and production scheduling in order to meet facility goals. Evaluate sources to determine the ability to meet delivery schedules.
7.Ensure the Materials Department complies with applicable safety standards, human resource policies, and other applicable company policies as well as applicable laws.
8.Ensure documentation and system compliance in the Materials Department according to applicable internal requirements to meet regulatory standards (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and FDA, Title 21 Part 820, QSR, etc.).
Education and/or Experience
a.Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
b.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Management level position.
c.Computer proficient MRP/ERP software Open Bravo, MasterControl.
a.Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, reports, technical procedures, and/or government regulations.
b.Able to write reports, business correspondence, as well as internal procedures and instructions.
c.Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, and employees.
a.Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
b.Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings and material requirements.Material COmntManager
