Manages the operational functions and the activities of the Materials and Shipping departments at Katecho, Inc. to include strategic planning, personnel, facilities, equipment, cost improvements, operating procedures and compliance with state and federal requirements. Responsible for continuous process improvements. Develops and implements lean manufacturing, change management, and creating systems for operations excellence for the overall direction and development of the company. Directs department to effectively and efficiently maintain and improve the level of quality at Katecho, Inc.
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the following skills or topics as a prerequisite to selection:
Supplier assessment and development/improvement.
Economic costing analysis.
Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering methods & tools.
Some knowledge of mechanical design and engineering tools such as DFMA, FMEA, and statistical tools of engineering and manufacturing will be necessary.
Applicant must be articulate and proficient at preparation of technical and business presentations.
Formal corrective action systems and methods.
Diverse knowledge of business metrics and performance management.
APICS certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP preferred.
Lean manufacturing and/or six sigma training/certifications are a plus.
Bachelor's degree is required.
Strong knowledge of business systems, SAP preferred.
SKilled with Excel, word, and Powerpoint. Preferred experience with MRP, Open Bravo, and/or MasterControl software.
Skilled in multi-department management specific to Warehousing, Logistics, and administration.
Formal Leadership training a must.
Engineering or Operations Management is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to best practices is essential.
A minimum of five (5) years of applicable experience in a complex manufacturing company and at least three (3) years of Supply Chain and Logistics Management experience is required.
Previous managerial experience is required with a demonstrated track record of results.
Experience with procurement of components or assemblies if critical.
Experience in a Job Shop environment is preferred.
